Summer Camp

Ninja Warrior Courses, Yoga, Mindfulness, Art Classes, Science, Music and More!

Rolly Pollies camps are the perfect combination of enrichment and energy. Featuring curriculum written by NYS Physical Education and National Board Certified Teachers and executed by caring, nurturing, professional teachers in the most well equipped children's facility in WNY, Rolly Pollies provides the best indoor (and air conditioned) camp for children.
AM CAMP:

On Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 - 12:00 the entire facility is dedicated to our AM "Made to Move" Camp. Made to Move features American Ninja Warrior style obstacle training in the gym and experiences with literature, yoga, creative movement, and action art. Our children are Made to Move, and the sedentary nature of the typical school day leaves our children wanting more action! Rolly Pollies is the place to move! Endurance, strength, agility, fine and gross motor skills, body awareness, body control and mindfullness is the key to our incredibly active AM Camp. Our 3 - 9 year old Gymbugs™ (must be potty trained) will enjoy 3 hours of ninja warrior obstacle training, yoga, creative movement, sensory art activities, literature and fun with our highly trained, professional, and enthusiastic staff in our clean and safe facility. AM Camp runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 - 12:00. Our very flexible camp allows you to sign up for any Tuesday or Thursday throughout the summer. Sign up for just a couple days, or all 20!

Snack time will also be a part of the program (snacks to be provided by you, Rolly Pollies is a nut free facility).

PM CAMP:

Our 3-9 year old Gymbugs™ will enjoy 3 hours of child-centered play-based activities! PM Camp begins in the art room and includes mindfulness warm ups, experiences with practical play, creative arts, and sensory and motor based activities that are self directed and guided by our highly trained staff. Fine motor skills, measuring, building, experimenting, cooperative games and more allow our campers fun and freedom within limits, the ability to investigate, think critically, and move at their own pace in a hands-on environment. Rolly Pollies PM Camp allows children the freedom to express themselves in a creative way in the art room and the gym. The gym portion of camp allows campers to join in on Rolly Pollies Open Play for the day; perfect for self-guided play! Campers are free to choose their favorite activities in the gym, build with gym materials, create obstacle courses, make up their own games, and make new friends! Freedom is the hallmark of summer vacation and Rolly Pollies PM Camp offers guidance without guidelines, valuing the process not the product, and independence and confidence soar.

PM Camp runs Monday - Thursday from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Sign up for one week, or all 7!

Snack time will also be a part of the program (snacks to be provided by you, Rolly Pollies is a nut free facility).

A Day at Rolly Pollies Summer Camp!

A Day at Rolly Pollies AM Summer Camp
Our program is structured to maximize each child's unique abilities in an encouraging and positive environment. Upon entering the facility, children will gather in the gym for approximately 10 minutes of supervised free play time. Once all the children have arrived, we will sing a hello song. The hello song is an activity where the children can express themselves by choosing different types of gross motor movements to do while singing hello and learning their friends names! After all the children have been introduced, the group will be divided in half. One group will head to art and music, the other will remain in the gym.

The creative arts portion of the program focuses on fine motor skill development and body control and creative movement. Mindfulness activities include guided meditation, fun breathing exercises, guided sensory discoveries through body awareness and tactile stimuli! Literature is incorporated through yoga storybooks with interactive poses throughout. Not a craft based camp, our campers will take part in cooperative action art projects and sensory activities. This is certainly a camp you won't find anywhere else!

A brief snack period (snack provided by you, we are a nut free facility) will take place, then the groups will switch so that everyone gets to participate in all the day's activities.

In the gym, cooperation and teamwork are the highlights of the games and activities. In our MADE TO MOVE CAMP program, the gym program features American Ninja Warrior inspired workouts focused on balance, upper body strength, endurance, generating momentum, grip strength, and most importantly building courage and confidence as we test their limits with fun physical feats. Some of our new equipment for camp includes quad step mats, slackline, spider walks, wall climbs, cargo net, barrel swings and more. Endurance, strength and agility are highlighted as children practice problem solving while navigating through obstacle courses. Setting a strategy to achieve common goals, teamwork, and positive sportsmanship are always highlighted. And of course, everyone will get plenty of time for free play as well!

To finish the day, everyone heads to the gym to sing a good bye song and prepare to be dismissed to their parents.

A Day at Rolly Pollies PM Summer Camp
Each week of PM camp will explore sensory activities, experiments, various art techniques and group games.

Upon entering the facility, children will gather in the art room for approximately 15 minutes of open ended craft time. Once all the children have arrived, we will sing a hello song. The hello song is an activity where the children can express themselves by choosing different types of gross motor movements to do while singing hello and learning their friends names! After a mindfulness activity, campers enjoy the creative arts and sensory play provided for the day!

The creative arts portion of the program focuses on fine motor skill development, science activities, and many open ended activities that invite focus and critical thinking. Each day offers different learning and experimental stations. Some campers will focus on the scientific method to solve a problem or answer a question, others may enjoy social and cooperative aspects of sensory activities. Sharing materials and learning manners are emphasized as children interact closely with each other!

A brief snack period (snack provided by you, we are a nut free facility) will take place.

In the gym, Open Play is the highlight! The gym portion of camp allows campers to join in on our regular Rolly Pollies Open Play for the day, perfect for self-guided play! Campers are free to choose their favorite activities in the gym, build with gym materials, create obstacle courses, make up their own games, and make new friends! Boundless energy and bounce house time gives your gym lover the free play they desire.

Camp ends with a good bye song in our Art room and campers prepare to be dismissed to their parents.

The Benefits of Summer Camp at Rolly Pollies

Your 3 and 4 year old

For our youngest campers, this may be the first time that they have experienced being dropped off for a program without mom or dad present. Our staff has loads of experience with this separation and can work with you and your child to make it an easy transition! For many of our 3 and 4 year olds, Rolly Pollies is already a place they love, and they are very secure and happy as they join in the activities without mom or dad. Many of our 3 and 4 year olds have been attending preschool, and continuing this routine will help keep them in the swing of things for the fall, whether returning to preschool, or getting ready for that big first day of kindergarten. It is an exciting time to learn how to work with others, take direction from adults other than their parents, and of course, make new friends in a exciting and positive atmosphere.

Your 5 and 6 year old

On top of the obvious physical activity that your child will be getting at our facility, it is a great opportunity for your 5 and 6 year old to expand socially. At this age making friends and interacting with them in a cooperative environment is ideal. Our 5 and 6 year olds are the middle of the pack at Rolly Pollies Summer Camp and confidence is built as they model activities for our youngest campers, yet they still have older children to look up to. Children in this age group love the social aspect of our camp and practice making new friends and using manners, all while having the time of their life!

Your 7, 8 and 9 year old

Our oldest campers tend to become our leaders throughout the summer program. Remember your last year of elementary school? 8th grade? Senior year of high school? Being the "seniors" our 7, 8, and 9 year old campers self-esteem and confidence really take off as they are empowered to be leaders. The content in our curriculum interests them them most and encourages them to ask questions and add their personal knowledge during story and discussion time. Science and exploratory activities in our PM camp are a fantastic introduction to the scientific method and deductive reasoning that will help your child excel in science class in grades 1 - 3. Many of our PM camp themes parallel these early science curriculums. Our 7 -9 year olds usually play our cooperative games while assuming a leadership role and guide the younger campers through the games and activities. Art projects are detailed and neat and their ideas are often "copied" by younger campers who look up to them. Nothing is more rewarding to these children than being look upon as the "big" kid and enjoying all the confidence this role has to offer.
