PlaySchool Montessori

The PlaySchool Montessori environment appeals to the young child's natural desire for independence and order. Because children are naturally interested in mastering daily living activities that they have witnessed, the activities, or "works" as they are referred to, are provided to satisfy a child's internal desire to do big things.
Over the course of the session, the children will be guided in many activities, including transferring and sorting items, pouring liquids, scrubbing household items, learning self care/hygiene, preparing snacks, grace and courtesy and in general, taking care of themselves, their environment, and one another. Activities will build upon one another and will aid the child in developing his coordination in movement, his balance, and his gracefulness in his environment, as well as his need to develop the power of being silent.
